Our immediate past VID president, Jonathan Geballe, won appointment as Male District Leader with a resounding vote on January 31 at the 66th Assembly District Part A County Committee special election replacing Brad Hoylman. Brad had stepped down after his election to the NY State Senate. The official vote count of the County Committee was 55 votes for Jonathan, with 4 for Arthur Schwartz and 2 for Deley Gazinelli.
Jonathan will now serve Part A of the 66th AD with co-District Leader Keen Berger.
Jonathan was endorsed by Assemblymember Deborah Glick, State Senator Brad Hoylman, Congressman Jerrold Nadler, City Councilmember Christine Quinn, State Committeeperson Rachel Lavine and Female District Leader Keen Berger.
Jonathan, who continues to serve on VID’s Executive Committee, will stand for election at the upcoming Democratic primary(yet to be officially scheduled, but anticipated for September).
