VID’s October 2019 Meeting Covered the County Committee, Early Voting, the New York Health Act and a Vote on the Five Ballot Proposals for NYC Charter Revisions. President David Siffert opened the October 2019 meeting with an account of the recent County Committee meeting, saying the acting chair had refused to count votes, upsetting Arthur Schwartz, the law co-chair of the County Committee and our District Leader, who tried to make the process fair.  There will be no elections for two years, so David warned us we must get our ducks in a row. VID’s March Meeting

VID’s March Meeting featured reports on the gun violence forum, the Congressional primary, an early voting bill in the NYS legislature and the Algonquin Pipeline.  It ended with Club endorsements for Jerry Nadler, Carolyn Maloney, Charles Schumer and Hillary Clinton. NYS Candidates Forum

On May 1st VID and eight other Clubs sponsored a NYS candidates forum for Democrats seeking inclusion on the 2014 Primary Ballot. Belated Thank You

New Year’s, Martin Luther King Day,  Valentines Day, Presidents Day and we are finally able to say thank you – with pictures – from The December Holiday Pot-Luck Party (double click on the first image to get to the slideshow)… It was a jolly affair.  As you can see by the pictures, this was not your usual stuffy political event!  Frieda Bradlow provided the wonderful space. and food and drink came by the armfuls by our friends and members.  The bake-off between Keen’s Chocolate Raisin Oatmeal cookies and Nadine’s No-Calorie Chocolate cupcakes ended in a tie.  The judges had fun!  Georgina’s hand-made hats […]
