Jerome Koenig (Jerry Koenig) (1933-2012) passed away February 17, 2012 after suffering a heart attack a few days earlier. Jerry was a reform Democrat for many years, an original VID member dating back to the 1950s and an election law expert. He was often VID’s “go-to guy” on judicial contests and election law matters. He is known for his important work with the New York State Assembly Standing Committee on Elections, including rewriting many provisions of election law.
A memorial service will be held at All Souls Unitarian Church, 1157 Lexington Avenue (E. 80th St) Manhattan, on Tuesday, 21st Feb. 3:15 p.m.
