Endorsements

VID endorses candidates and ballot proposals in all national, state, and local elections. In accordance with our Constitution, a candidate or ballot proposal must receive a majority vote in order to receive a VID endorsement. Members assume voting privileges after 90 days of membership in good standing.

  • The Village Independent Democrats voted “no endorsement” and will reevaluate at our March meeting.

Thursday, January 8th Meeting and Candidates’ Night 
State Senate: 27th Senate District

  • The Village Independent Democrats endorses Brad Hoylman for State Senate.

State Assembly: 66th Assembly District

  • The Village Independent Democrats endorses Deborah Glick for State Assembly.

State Committee Members: 66th Assembly District 

  • The Village Independent Democrats endorses Rachel Lavine and Benjamin Yee for State Committee.

Thursday, February 13th Meeting and Candidates’ Night 

Congress: 10th Congressional District

  • The Village Independent Democrats endorses Jerrold Nadler for US Congress, 10th Congressional District.

Congress: 12th Congressional District

  • The Village Independent Democrats endorses Carolyn Maloney for US Congress, 12th Congressional District.
