VID conducts a virtual Tenants Clinic every Wednesday evening at 6:00 PM. This year the Tenants Clinic has switched to online and telephone sessions. Covid-19 has exacerbated the confusion and uncertainty of tenants with eviction, repairs, leases, and other housing issues.  To make their lives easier, the volunteer attorneys at our virtual tenants clinics are now providing their services online and by telephone.  The Clinic’s attorneys can educate tenants on their rights, resources that are available to them, and navigating the court system.  The […]

The January 2019 Meeting Covered Immigrants Rights; a Resolution Covering State Prosecution Notwithstanding a Federal Pardon; Albany Lobbying for the People’s Platform; Officer Elections; Gun Reform; Campaigning and VID’s Environmental Agenda. Erik Coler topped the list of VID Officers for 2018 as he was re-elected President Also elected at the December 14 meeting, as VID officers for 2018 were Vice Presidents, Jennifer Hoppe and two new Vice Presidents, Erik Bottcher and Laurie Hardjowirigo.  All three have been ardent campaigners for local candidates as well as frequent volunteers in Up-State New York, Pennsylvnia, Virginia and Georgia.  We are now, officially, infused with exceptional energy and Democratic commitment for another momentous year. On October 12th VID will vote for the clubs City Council District 1 endorsement….
