On Thursday, February 9th members participated in the VID Spring 2023 endorsements conducting interviews with 13 candidates running in the June Primary: three running for new City Council Districts; two running in the 66th AD as District Leaders; eight running for Civil Court Judgeships. Village Democrats Persevere – Neither cold nor Covid deters Village Independent Democrats from their appointed rounds petitioning for their endorsed candidates. In early spring intrepid members – and endorsed candidates – donned masks, gloves, extra sanitizer, pens and clip boards for those all-important ballot petition signatures. VID’s February 11 Meeting Focused on Endorsements February 11 Meeting Minutes Co-President Mar Fitzgerald opened the February 11 meeting by announcing there would be lots of endorsements today. Co-President Cam Krause delivered the President’s Report, saying we had signed on to the Invest in Our New York Coalition, involved with taxation and advocating to invest in housing and public services. The First Meeting of the Year Highlighted Ranked Choice Voting, NYC Candidate Endorsements and VID Elections Full Meeting Minutes Co-President Cam Krause opened the January 14th General Meeting with a vote on the agenda, which passed unanimously.
